After covering the remainder of Chapter 13, we took another practice quiz.  We then looked at Chapter 3, which focuses on audience.

For next time, please review Chapters 3 and 13.  I plan to give you a little more practice with Chapter 13.  I also plan to have you begin a small group project based on Chapter 3 (with your group, you’ll be asked to choose one of the Alternative Projects on page 42).

One last assignment for next time: please read Chapter 9.

See you Friday!

Today we worked through the first half of Chapter 13.  With a partner, students looked at a few assigned exercise items and completed them.  Then each pair presented the assigned exercise items to the class, explaining the problem with the sentences and how to correct them.  We covered Exercises 1-9 in Chapter 13 today.  We will look at the remainder of Chapter 13 on Monday and take a test on Chapter 13 on Wednesday.

The Grammar Test and extra credit item are posted in Blackboard.  These items will be available until Sunday night, January 27.  You must have completed the test by then, or you will receive a zero for the assignment.  Please email me on CampusCruiser if you have a problem with the test.

Have a wonderful weekend!  Stay warm.

You will take the Chapter 2 Multiple-Choice quiz online in class today.  (You are welcome to review the Chapter 2 PowerPoint presentation below first.)

You should work on this quiz independently.  You may attempt this quiz as many times as you like.  You must show me your grade on the results screen when you are finished.

Good luck!

After completing the quiz and showing me your grade, you may move on to the “Editing for Style Usage, and Mechanics Excercises: A Review” Section of this page and begin practicing the grammar exercises here.

You will have a grammar test on Wednesday, January 23.
